Breakfast at Tiffany's #2

Paul Varjak: "Holly, I'm in love with you."
Holly Golightly: "So what?"
Paul Varjak: "So what? So plenty! I love you. You belong to me."
Holly Golightly: "No. People don't belong to people."
Paul Varjak: "Of course they do."
Holly Golightly: "I'm not going to let anyone put me in a cage."
Paul Varjak: "I don't want to put you in a cage. I want to love you."
Holly Golightly: "It's the same thing."
Paul Varjak: "No it's not. Holly..."
Holly Golightly: "I'm not Holly. I'm not Lula Mae, either. I don't know who I am! I'm like cat here, a couple of no-name slobs. We belong to nobody and nobody belongs to us. We don't even belong to each other."

A flippant lifestyle from Holly Golightly (Audrey Hepburn) has something in common with someone I know. Why do people too afraid to fall in love and having a commitment? Poor Holly. I couldn't sigh more over this film.

Breakfast at Tiffany's #1

Directed by: Black Edwards
Based on: Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote
Release date: October 5, 1961
Starring: Audrey Hepburn, George Peppard, Patricia Neal, Buddy Ebsen, Mickey Rooney
Distributed by: Paramount Pictures

I've just watched a 1961 legendary film adapted from novella by Truman Capote, which starring timeless American beauty iconAudrey Hepburn and George Peppard. Yes, call me a girl from other planet. I love this film, the dress (my favorite one is LBD from Givency at the begining of the film), jewelery, society, the actors, the conversation, and the scoringMoon River by Henry Mancini is absolutely a masterpiece, don't you think? Not too surprised if it was nominated for several Academy Award that time.

Doc Golightly: "I love you Lula Mae."
Holly Golightly: "I know you do, and that's just the trouble. It's the mistake you always made, Doc, trying to love a wild thing. You were always lugging home wild things. Once it was a hawk with a broken wing... and another time it was a full-grown wildcat with a broken leg. Remember?"
Doc Golightly: "Lula Mae there's something..."
Holly Golightly: "You musn't give your heart to a wild thing. The more you do, the stronger they get, until they're strong enough to run into the woods or fly into a tree. And then to a higher tree and then to the sky."

Bryan's The American Grill & Wings

Dear Pork Hunter,

When you come to Semarang don't forget to visit Bryan's The American Grill & Wings. They have very yummy-tasty pork cooked in American style. I had Grilled Pork Chop that day, 200 grams of pork chop dance on the grill, served with sweet BBQ sauce, side salad and fries (you can choose potato wedges, french fries, or mashed potatoes) only for 39,8 K. Aaaaaand the other good news is there are six variants of sauce; Sweet BBQ, Texas BBQ, Honey Garlic, Carribean, Sweet 'n Spicy, Spicy Hot, just pick your favorite one. Yayyy! They also offer Grilled Pork Ribs (79,8 K), Pork Corn (15,8 K), and Rice Combos (44,8 K) for pork lover. I barely forget to mention that you might want to be there at night while it has a cozy American ambience. Next time am going to come back and gladly take more pictures to be shared.

Tentang Kehilangan

Minggu lalu pakdhe kesayangan saya dipanggil Tuhan. Begitu tiba-tiba, tanpa sakit terlebih dahulu, yang kalau kata orang Jawa "angin duduk". Keluarga besar kami berduka, mengalami kehilangan besar. Pagi ini kakak sepupu saya mengirim pesan singkat, minta dukungan doa untuk budhe yang sampai hari ini masih terus menangis. Saya sedih mendapati hal itu. Lalu saya ingat perkataan adek beberapa hari lalu, katanya waktu putus cinta, saya seperti orang "berduka".

Hidup itu seperti roda yang berputar. When life put us on a top, no matter how much we want time to stop moving, we can't stop the clock.

Just as the season of the year continue, so do the cycles of lifebirth and dead, success and failure, sin and confession. Although we have no power to stop the clock while we're enjoying good times, We can rest in God's promise that eventually all bad times will end (Revelation 21:4). Julie Ackerman
